Miller's blasts destroyed Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The article speaks about the powerful hitting of Miller who took the match away from Royal Challengers Bengaluru and ensured victory for Kings Eleven Punjab on 9th May, 2014.

On 9th May, 2014, Glenn Maxwell went out cheaply. But Miller sealed the fate of Royal Challengers Bengaluru who lost the match by 32 runs.

Kings Eleven Punjab batted first. Sehwag scored 30 runs of 24 balls at the beginning of the innings. His innings was aggressive with 5 fours. But in most of the matches Sehwag had been getting out in the 30s. Once he had got set he threw away his wicket.

Although the innings are useful in the total score of Kings Eleven Punjab, but Sehwag had not really impressed the Indian selectors who are supposed to make a decision in respect of India’s world cup one –day team. As Sehwag is already out of the tests and one day side, unless he scores mammoth innings in the IPL 2014, there are very less chances of him making a comeback.

Mandeep Singh score 21 runs. Maxwell came up and started the storm scoring 25 runs of 11 balls. After hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes he got out by Starc in the ball of Chahal. But from where he left, Miller began his powerful innings. He scored 66 runs of 29 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes. The score of 198 runs in 20 overs was mammoth total for the Royals Challengers Bengaluru.

The top order did not click. Gayle made 4 runs, Parthiv Patel made 13 runs, Virat Kohli went for a duck. It was left to AB De Villiers to show some magic. De Villiers scored 53 runs of 26 balls but got dismissed in the ball of Balaji. He hit 1 four and 5 sixes, but could not carry on because the asking rate just mounted and he did not have partners to rely on. Royal Challengers Bengaluru fell 32 runs short of the total of Kings Eleven Punjab. Sandeep Sharma and Mitchelle Johnson were both successful. Sandeep Sharma took 3 wickets giving 25 runs in 4 overs. Johnson took one wicket giving 25 runs in 4 overs. Balaji and Shivam Saxena took 2 wickets each.

Kings Eleven Punjab is not leading the Points Table. Royal Challengers now have no other option to win all the rest of the matches to qualify for the semi-finals of IPL 2014. The viewers are also puzzled to know the 3rd and 4th teams in the semi-finals of IPL 2014. It is evident now that Kings Eleven Punjab and Chennai Super Kings will definitely qualify for the semi-finals of IPL 2014.
