Can Umesh Yadav rediscover himself after Wasim Akram’s tips?

Umesh Yadva is a fast bowler from India and plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He has got some key tips from Wasim Akram. How can Umesh Yadav help India with this new bowling?

For any player, the tips that his seniors give him are the most important than coaching manual. Such tips are the outcome of hard work and firsthand experience. They are pretty much useful to upcoming players. There are a lot of examples where seniors have successfully guided their juniors in their profession.

Umesh Yadav needs some good performance to back his talents. He seems to have got it in form after a good showing for India ‘A’ in Australia. He has been practicing bowling the perfect Yorkers that would be as perfect as toe-crushing.

The former Pakistani fast bowler, Wasim Akram, was virtually unplayable at times with his incoming swinging balls that left the batsmen with little to do.

Upcoming Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav got the much-needed guidance from Akram during his stint as the Kolkata Knight Riders bowling coach.

India has been struggling to find a good pace bowler for a string of years now. Though they have got some good fast bowlers, they have been just in patches. The absence of a supporting fast bowler took a toll of the fast bowling spearhead like Zaheer Khan or Javagal Srinath and their careers had to be untimely truncated.

There were some nuisances that Umesh Yadav brought forward about Akram’s guidance. The Indian fast bowler pointed out that if the body does not align to the bowling length properly, a bowler should not try to swing the ball. This does not give the ball the preferred direction and a bowler ends up bowling a wide ball.

Umesh Yadav has been in form with both the bat and the ball. He took five wickets and conceded 90 runs. He also hit 90 runs in a short time in a Test match against Australia, that didn’t have the official Test recognition, though.

This would help him get in the Indian team for the one day series against England that has already got underway. The first match of the five-match one day series was abandoned due to rain and he didn’t play in the second match that India won comfortably. However, he is in the squad for the one-day series.

Finding a spot in the playing XI will not be easy for Umesh Yadav, especially after the arrival of Mohit Sharma in the Indian team. He did even play in the second ODI. Apart from him, Mohammed Shami and Bhavaneshwar Kumar are already playing for India. Making room for the third seamer will be a tough call.
