India is favourite opposite South Africa in the 2nd World Cup Match.

The article speaks about India's chances in winning the 2nd match opposite South Africa in Melbourne Cricket Ground on 22nd February, 2015. India are hot favourites.

India will clash with South Africa in the 2nd match of World Cup 2015. The match will be played in Melbourne Cricket Ground on 22nd February, 2015.

India will start as favourites. After both South Africa and India won their first matches, the viewers had got an idea about the strengths of the teams.

India had outplayed Pakistan in the opening encounter, while South Africa struggled very hard to defeat Zimbabwe in the first match.

Firstly India’s batting is far better than South Africa. The records speak about that. Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina are match-winners. Their performances in the first match had shown their capability.

Dhoni still now had not contributed much with the bat in this World Cup so far. A lot is in his store may be in the South Africa Match.

On the other hand South Africa’s batting weaknesses are exposed by Zimbabwe in the first match itself. There is too much hype of the capability of De Villiers. He had played 2 World cups before and did not make huge impact. Amla and De Cock are not at all in good nick. Duminy is an intelligent batsmen and started with a century in the World Cup, but cannot be a match-winner. Miller is very unpredictable. On one day his hard-hitting works. On the other day he goes for a duck.

South Africa only has one edge over India and that is the bowling they have. With a huge height Morne Morkel is definitely going to make an impact. Steyn and Philander flopped in the first match and are not expected to do much. India’s Mohammad Shami had taken 4 wickets in the first match and is expected to repeat it in 2nd match too.

South Africans are bad players of spin. So Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja has huge opportunity to make an impact in the 2nd match. The records are in favour of South Africa as they had defeated India more times in World Cup before.

But those were the teams of Cronje, Shaun Pollock and Graham Smith. This time they have a weaker side. At one time South Africa used to boast about 3 great all-rounders Jack Kallis, Shaun Pollock and Lance Klusener. Now they have no all-rounders at all. If India can play to their potentials they will win the match irrespective of whether they bat first or second.
