The article speaks about the powerful batting of Royal Challengers Bengaluru which blew away Delhi Dare Devils.

Delhi Dare Devils were outplayed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru on 17th April, 2014. Kevin Peterson, the captain of the Delhi Dare Devils side could not play the first match due to fitness problems. That tilted the balance in favour of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The match was played at Sharjah. IPL 2014 had not started with high-scoring games. Till now none of the teams scored more than 180 runs.

So looking at the wicket it was difficult to decide whether to bat or field first. Both the teams had equal chances of defeating the other.

In case of Royal Challengers Bengaluru also Chris Gayle did not play the first match. Virat Kohli, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and elected to field first. Delhi Dare Devils made the worst start possible. None of the batsman in the first five overs even tried to occupy the crease. Murali Vijay scored 18 runs, but the innings never got a start. Agarwal, Dinesh Kartik and Manoj Tiwari played extravagant shots which led to downfall.

JP Duminy and Ross Taylor restored the initial damage but the time that was wasted to do the restoration act, that lowered the run rate. JP Duminy remained unbeaten on 67 runs where Ross Taylor remained unbeaten on 43 runs. But the score of 145 by Delhi Dare Devils was 25 runs short for really creating any challenge.

Mohammad Shami dismissed Maddinson very early. But Parthiv Patel played brilliantly for his 37 runs. Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh played their normal innings to chase the paultry target of 145 runs. Yuvraaj Singh remained unbeaten on 52 runs with 5 sixes. Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 49 runs. The fielding of Delhi Dare Devils was disastrous. The got the opportunity of getting Virat Kohli catch out twice. Both the catches were dropped. They were not difficult to that extent as well.

De Villiers and Albie Morkel were padded up. They never required to bat at all. With a very strong batting line up Royal Challengers Bengaluru are one of the favourites in the tournament. Their bowling had not been tested till now. Once they face a good team like Kolkata Knight Riders or Chennai Super Kings that will be tested.

Delhi Dare Devils did not select big all-rounders in the team. That will hurt the team. Unless Peterson comes in and does miracle, they hardly have any outside chance to enter the semi-finals.
