Finally, 2018's FIFA World Cup has come to an end after four weeks, 64 games and 169 goals. We have witnessed some of the best goals at World Cup. Here is my list of top 10 goals of FIFA World Cup, 2018.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup was the 21st FIFA World Cup. It was the first World cup to be held in Eastern Europe and a most expensive World Cup ever. It was also the first World Cup to use the video assistant referee (VAR) system.

A total of 32 teams participated in this World Cup of which 31 came through qualifying competitions, while the host nation qualified automatically. Both Iceland and Panama made their first appearances at a FIFA World Cup. A total of 64 matches were played in 12 venues across 11 cities.

The 2018 FIFA World cup was held in Russia from 14th June to 15th July. The first match was held between host Russia and Saudi Arabia in Luzhniki stadium, Moscow.

Russia won the match by a huge margin 5-0. This year's FIFA World Cup concludes on Sunday, 15th July with France taking home the World Cup after a 4-2 victory over Croatia in the final.

There is no doubt that this World Cup has been one of the greatest World Cups we have ever seen. Almost every game was super exciting and some of the matches were simply superb.

The tournament was full of drama. The defending champions (2014) Germany was knocked out in the group stages. They were defeated by Mexico and South Korea. Argentina reached at round of 16 via narrow win against Nigeria, while Japan entered into the round of 16 through disciplinary record in group stage matches.

In the round of 16, France vs Argentina match was one of the best games of the tournament. France won the match against last year's runner up Argentina which was held on 30th June in Kazan Arena. Belgium came from two goals down to beat Japan, which was held on 2nd July in Rostov Arena. The elimination of Spain and Portugal in the round of 16 were the biggest surprises of this year World Cup. Spain was knocked out on penalties by host Russia, which was held on 1st July in Luzhniki stadium. Another team Portugal lost to Uruguay by 2-1 goals which was held on 30th June in Fisht olympic stadium, Sochi. The hero of this match was Edinson Cavani. He scored two amazing goals in this match.

In the quarter finals, the whole World saw the favourites Brazil’s hopes of a sixth world title end with a defeat against Belgium, who produced one of the best performances of the World Cup to progress to the Semis. It also saw the elimination of host team Russia, who was defeated by Croatia on penalties.

In the first Semi Final, Belgium was defeated by France who reached their third final in six World Cups. In the other semi-final, England’s dreams of a first final since 1966 came to an end as Croatia reached the final for the first time.

In the Final, France beat Croatia and lift their second world title after twenty years.
