New Zealand did no homework before coming to India:

New Zealand did no homework before coming to India. In the first match in T20 World Cup versus India it was a poor performance of New Zealand. From the entire body language of New Zealand players it is evident that they did not do any home work.
India recently won the Asia Cup in Bangladesh and stuck to the same plan. New Zealand batsmen fed the Indian bowlers with the plan they made. It was probably the worst innings Kane Williamson had played in the last 5 years. He not only disappointed his team but also the spectators.
He scored 8 runs out of 16 balls but more than that he could not place any single ball.
Dhoni just like other matches started the bowling with RavichandranAshwin. New Zealand had no plan. Although Guptill hit him in the first ball for a six above the side-screen he made a wrong decision to go for a sweep. The umpire Dharmasena also made a blunder in giving him out leg before. The ball went high above the wicket and would definitely had gone to miss the stumps. The balance of the match was destroyed in the first over itself.
It was disgusting piece of batting on the part of Munroe. He came did not see the pitch, never got set and started playing wild shots. His scoop to the fielder within the first 6 overs in the ball of Ashish Nehra showed worst taste of club cricket. Players like Munroe should not have been brought to India.
Ross Taylor was another disappointment. Many group of cricket experts feel that he is a very lazy cricketer. He proved the point. Inspite of being wristy his running between the wickets is disgusting. He got run out when Suresh Raina threw the ball at the stumps from bowlers end when he should have been in the non-striker end. He scored 10 runs, wasted a number of balls and instead of stabilizing the innings added pressure by getting out.
Dhoni stuck to a plan that he wanted to finish the overs of RavichandranAshwin in the first 10 overs just because New Zealand had many left-handers. He also had the plan of bowling RavindraJadeja for his 4 overs from 10th over onwards. Due to disgusting batting of Corey Anderson even ordinary part-time spinners like Suresh Raina looked great. He bowled for 4 overs, gave 16 runs and took one wicket. It was sheer shame on the part of New Zealand.
Players like Williamson, Anderson, Guptill don’t know how to step out against spinners. They don’t learn also. Many Asian cricketers like Soumya Sarkar, Shabbir had learned from ViratKohli the art of playing spinners.
Bumrah had been known for bowling inswing Yorkers at 140 kilometers per hour. He was successful in Bangladesh in the Asia Cup with all of them. New Zealand had no plans against him. Corey Anderson after facing more than 42 balls scored 34 runs wasted a number of Yorkers and got bowled in one of them going for a reverse sweep. It was such a disgusting piece of shot selection.Santner got out caught behind by Dhoni in a straight ball of RavindraJadeja which did not turn. He scored 18 runs and never looked comfortable at any time.
Bumrah did beat Elliot in every Yorker he gave in the 18th over. It was difficult to realize that this was the same Elliot who was successful in hitting over-boundaries against Morkel and Steyn in the World Cup cricket semi-finals in 2015. Even RavindraJadeja finished with figures of 26 runs given in 4 overs with a wicket. Elliot scored 9 runs out of 12 balls and looked worst than tail-enders.Nehra gave 20 runs of 3 overs and took a wicket. New Zealand scored only 126 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs which was a below par score in slow wicket of Nagpur.
When India started batting New Zealand started with spinners. Nathan Mccullum picked up ShikharDhawan leg before wicket for 1 run only. Santner picked the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina. Rohit Sharma stepped up and could not connect the ball and got out stumped by wicket-keeper. Suresh Raina had a soft dismissal. He scooped a ball to close-in-fielder in the ball of Santner.
But there was no plan for India’s No 1 batsman ViratKohli. Yuvraaj Singh got out caught and bowled before Nathan Mccullum after scoring 4 runs.
But at the same time the wicket in Jamtha, Nagpur was disgusting. Only Dhoni scored 30 runs and ViratKohli scored 23 runs, the rest just came and went. Nathan Mccullum, Sodhi were literally unplayable.
The wicket was not fit for international cricket at all. In T20 matches, the spectators come to see exciting cricket, not wickets after wickets.
The only good thing about New Zealand team was to reserve their frontline bowlers like Trent Boult and Tim Southee for the seaming wickets, not Nagpur. New Zealand played with 3 spinners, Santner, Sodhi and Nathan Mccullum. India’s plan and strategy was even worst than New Zealand. India eventually scored only 79 runs and lost by 47 runs.
India had specialist off-spinner like Harbhajan Singh, but unnecessarily played with 3 seamers and 2 spinners. India could have dropped one seamer and brought Harbhajan Singh.
The viewers are anxious to see how Australia and Pakistan perform in Indian conditions. Firstly Australia is also best in fast conditions. If the wicket in Nagpur was disgusting for cricket, the same wicket might have created problems for Australia as well.
The spinners of Australia and Pakistan like Nathan Lyon or Shoaib Malik are not world class. Even the batting very rarely were tasted. In the slow turning tracks the batsmen are supposed to be most cautious. They have to be patient.
As we are already into the second Grand Slam (French Open) of the year and the third one (Wimbledon) is not so far, let us review the mid year performance and progression of India's top ranked singles players. All these players have already spent years on ATP circuit and gained good enough experiences at the highest level of the sport.
Glenn Maxwell was bought by Mumbai Indians for a massive sum of $1 million during IPL 2013 auction. But he featured in only three matches during that edition.
